What this site collects, why, and how long it keeps it.
What is collected
Page views are counted by a first-party script on this site. It records the page path, the referring site's hostname, and a timestamp. It does not set cookies, does not store your IP address, and does not build a profile or track you across other sites.
The web server keeps standard access logs, which include IP address, requested path and browser user agent. These are held by the hosting provider and are used only for operating and securing the service.
What is not collected
There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no advertising or third-party tracking scripts. The journey time form does not send your input anywhere; it is not yet connected to a routing service.
Lawful basis
Under the UK GDPR, the lawful basis is legitimate interests: operating a public traffic information service and keeping it secure. No special category data is processed.
Cookies
No cookies are set. Your light or dark theme preference is stored in your browser's local storage, on your device only, and is never transmitted.
Retention
Page view counts are aggregated and kept indefinitely. Server access logs are retained by the hosting provider for a short operational period and then discarded.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. Because the site does not identify individual visitors, we may not be able to locate data about you specifically.
Third parties
Map tiles are served by OpenFreeMap. Map rendering code is loaded from unpkg. Camera images are fetched from the Department for Infrastructure camera host and passed through this server; they are not stored.

If this policy changes, the date below changes with it.
